The Miracle of Christmas?

The mystery that baffles
About God indwelling his people
The enemy comes to muddle
By weaving the Christmas fable

For the Holy Child was born
Not on one December morn
But one day one time in Autumn
The date and time not known.

But this one thing is certain
Before Christ was born in Bethlehem
The pagan’s god the Sun
As Tammuz, Mithra or Saturn
Or Adonis or Baal also known
That on December 25 eve or morn
Is one great birthday celebration.

The miracle of Christ is not in Christmas
But in His love
His truth
His Word dwelling in us.
When mystery becomes revelation
Gone is the fear of the unknown.
