Everyday we must be holy. Everyday we must worship God and honor him wherever we are. But it is not everyday that we must gather as one body in a certain place of assembly such as in a church building or in a big auditorium or in a small quiet place of fellowship.
God has appointed times and seasons, days and weeks for us to celebrate and gather corporately according to his terms and purpose.
However throughout the centuries, the Kingdom of deception tried to change Gods appointed times and seasons. It tried to lure believers into believing that all these appointed days and weeks are of no value anymore. That somehow the Church has believed that Jesus had cancelled the weekly and annual Sabbaths; assuming that God values the six days as equally significant as the seventh day and the annual Sabbaths are only for the Jews.
To many honest-to-goodness believers, all these issues seem trivial and less important than love and grace. These two magic words are poured out as cold water to doused off the fire of obeying laws and commands of God. Their crusaders labelled law abiding believers as legalistic and unloving, believers of salvation by good works. These words became a standout in the 21st century with unlimitless applications in liberating believers from ceremonies, structures, form and discipline.
Grace, such an abused word among my fellow lovers of God. It became an agent to free us from consequences of wrongdoings and sin. It became as a humility jargon by those appreciated and honored for good works.
God is calling forth believers to come and assemble on his appointed days, times and seasons in designated places.
DECEPTION: The majority of the new testament believers of today have assumed that all days are significant to the Lord. Therefore, they conclude that Sunday as the day of the Lord for Church assembly for worship and miscellaneous activities exalting and glorifying the Lord is biblical, reasonble and makes more sense due to the following arguments:
- It is the first day of the week
- It is the day when Jesus ressurected
- Jesus cancelled the 7th day as the Lord's day
- Paul spoke of grace, freedom, and treating all days as days of the Lord
- As a minister, I rest on Mondays and this is my Sabbath day.
- Big and small churches anointed of God are observing the Sabbath on Sundays.
- It doesn't matter to God if you keep the Sabbath holy on Saturdays, Sundays or on any day.
